Model Fatally Shoots Husband Before Taking Her Own Life In Luxury US Home
A 27-year-old model allegedly fatally shot her husband before taking her own life inside their luxury home in Florida, US. According to the New York Post, the incident occurred on Wednesday at 12:30am. Cops responded to a report of multiple shots fired at the Beach Club II Hallendale at 1830 South Ocean Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Pajtim Krasniqi, 34, and his wife, Sabrina Krasniqi, 27, lying on the balcony of their lavish condo. They were both pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
In a heartbreaking Facebook post, Albana Krasniqi Munrett wrote, "My Thanksgiving Eve wasn't spent with my husband and children. It wasn't spent with friends. It was spent with police officers, detectives and news reports talking about the vicious and senseless murder of my youngest brother by his wife."
"Pajtimi's wife chose to take my brother's life away from him when she shot 5 bullets into his chest. The person he trusted the most, the person he chose to spend his life with was the one who took his away from him. She betrayed him, his love and his trust. She shattered my family. My siblings and I will never be the same. I'm terrified my mother will not ever recover," the post continued.
According to The Post, aerial footage of the police investigation revealed what appeared to be bullet holes in a glass door, with pools of blood nearby. Inside the unit was a teddy bear, a box of roses with a heart on it and the TV still on, per the outlet.
The cops responded to the scene after receiving an alert from ShotSpotter, a gunfire detection program. This program captured at least five shots erupting in quick succession, followed by a brief pause and then a sixth gunshot.

Kangana Ranaut's Instagram Post Of Woman Commando Guarding PM Modi Viral
A photo shared by BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut on her Instagram 'story' has been cited as a huge example of women empowerment.
In the photo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen walking in front of a woman commando in a dark suit.
Her expression is of seriousness while on the job, an unmistakable sign of being among the Prime Minister's elite bodyguards, Instagram users pointed out.
Many speculated she could be part of the highly trained Special Protection Group (SPG), an elite force entrusted with the task of providing proximate security to the Prime Minister, former Prime Minister, and their immediate family members.
Some women SPG commandos are also part of the 'Close Protection Team'.
Her actual service branch, however, remains unknown.
The SPG charter gives great responsibility to its members and this needs to be shouldered without any compromise on standards of performance the nation expects, the SPG says on its website. New initiatives in modernising and capacity building of the force are a continuous process, it says.
The country's armed forces also encourage women to join their ranks. Woman officers now command units such as air defence, signals, ordnance, intelligence, engineers and service corps.

Sambhal Mosque Dispute Reaches Supreme Court, Hearing Tomorrow
A lower court's order of a survey at the Mughal-era Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal that triggered massive violence in which four people died and many were injured, has been challenged in the Supreme Court. The Masjid Committee has sought an immediate stay on the order and demanded an early hearing from Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna.
The petitioners have claimed that this is an "extraordinary case", so the court should take "extraordinary steps". A bench led by the Chief Justice of India will hear the case tomorrow.
In response to a petition that claimed that the mosque stands on a temple dedicated to Kalki, the court had ordered a survey on November 19. As the district administration and police carried out the survey, there was criticism from several quarters, including the Jama Masjid management committee.
The situation snowballed on November 24 as a second survey by the Archaeological Survey of India was scheduled. Locals, fearing a demolition of the mosque, gathered to protest and in the violence that followed, four people died and many were injured.
In their petition, the mosque committee has said the civil court had passed one-sided orders and directed survey to be conducted on the same day with undue haste. It did not call for response from the affected parties -- the committee and the state government -- or conduct any judicial proceedings.
The manner in which survey was ordered in this case and in some other cases will have an immediate impact in a number of cases across the country that have been filed recently concerning places of worship. Such orders will have a tendency to inflame communal passions, cause law and order problems and damage the secular fabric of the country, the petition contended.
The Muslim community has strongly opposed the survey, pointing to the Places of Worship Act, 1991. The law maintains that barring Ayodhya, status quo as on August 15, 1947, will have to be maintained for religious structures across the country.
But in 2023, the Supreme Court had allowed a survey at Varanasi's Gyanvapi Mosque, with then Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud arguing that the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 does not debar ascertainment of the religious character of a place of worship.
The violence of November 24 in Sambhal and the subsequent decision of a court to hear a similar claim about the Ajmer Dragah has sparked a huge political row which resonated inside parliament and out. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned shortly after they convened today. In the Lok Sabha, Opposition members gathered at the well of the House, raising slogans demanding action against the perpetrators of the Sambhal violence.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti, claiming that the violence at Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, was the direct result of this judgment, said, "Thanks to a former Chief Justice of India a Pandora's box has been opened sparking a contentious debate about minority religious places".
"Despite a Supreme Court ruling that the status quo should be maintained as it existed in 1947, his judgement has paved the way for surveys of these sites potentially leading to increased tension between Hindus and Muslims," the PDP chief added, citing the top court's remarks when a bench had decided that a Ram temple can be built in Ayodhya.
Ziaur Rehman Barq, the Samajwadi Party MP from Sambhal, condemned the move as an attempt to disrupt communal harmony.
Earlier today, the Uttar Pradesh Police held a flag march in Sambhal ahead of Friday prayers.

Software Developer Fired From Startup After 2.5 Months, Reddit Post Viral
Reddit has become a popular platform for employees to share their job struggles, office experiences, and workplace concerns. Various subreddits have emerged where employees can anonymously share their stories, seek advice, and connect with others who face similar challenges. Recently, a Redditor shared their disheartening experience of getting fired only after 2.5 months at a Bengaluru-based startup. In their post, the former employee claimed that they joined the startup as a fresher with 6 months of internship experience. They were hired as a "frontend developer" and were immediately assigned a stack of tasks that left them exhausted.
"While I was excited to learn, I didn't have any prior experience with backend development," the Redditor wrote. They shared that within a week of joining, they were assigned an internal project, despite the company being client-based. "Around 70% of my work was backend-related," they said, adding, "Some tasks were manageable, but I encountered errors I couldn't solve, including issues that magically resolved themselves the next day. I conveyed every problem I faced in the project's Slack channel, as instructed. Sometimes I got a response, other times I didn't."
Take a look below:
Got fired today. Feeling confused and defeated. Need suggestions.

The user alleged that they communicated every challenge they encountered during their stunt to their superior. "PR reviews often took 3-4 days, which delayed my work and progress, but somehow, the questions and delays were always directed back at me. After working for 2.5 months, I received a message out of nowhere from a board member saying they couldn't continue with me," they said.
The Redditor claimed that they tried explaining their side of the story to the management, however, their decision was final. "This has left me feeling lost. I'm reflecting on what I could've done better and wondering if I was set up for failure by being assigned tasks I wasn't experienced enough to handle," they wrote.
"If you've been in a similar situation or have advice, I'd really appreciate hearing from you," the Redditor concluded.

The post was shared a few days back. Since then it has accumulated nearly 500 upvotes.
Reacting to the post, one user wrote, "Don't take it personal to the degree that it affects your self confidence. End of the day they were bad managers themselves that they had no plan in hand and it has come down to this. Use this experience to spot red flags when you find your next company."
"Expectations were set too high. If you didn't have a person dedicatedly helling you as a fresher, their need was probably of 2-4 years of experience and couldn't afford to dedicatedly help you out. They just didn't want to pay that much and expected you to be able to do it.It's not your fault," commented another.
"It was a startup, they tend to overwork employees and mostly who stays and who leaves is decided by the upper management which has 0 technical knowledge. Not your fault. It's just if you would have become a full time and gained some exp it would have been good. But then what to do, fate. Find another one and try not to mess up this time," wrote a third user.

Indian CEO Spends Rs 14 Lakh On Louis Vuitton Dog Suitcase, Internet Reacts
An Indian CEO has set social media abuzz after reportedly spending a whopping Rs 14 lakh on a Louis Vuitton accessory for his pet. The extravagant purchase, believed to be a designer dog suitcase has left the internet divided, with reactions ranging from astonishment to criticism. Ajay Thakore, CEO of Doctor Multimedia, documented the buying process in a video, which he shared on Instagram.
In the video, Mr Thakore is seen entering a Louis Vuitton store, saying, "I think my dog has something to pick up." He then showcases the extravagant dog suitcase called Bone Trunk, a hard-shelled, bone-shaped suitcase complete with a varnished wooden tray and two bowls.
The caption of the video read: "Aspen's always spending money like there's no tomorrow. $20k Louis Vuitton bone trunk."
Watch the video here:
Social media platforms were flooded with mixed reactions. Some users admired the CEO's ability to pamper their pet, calling it a display of love and privilege. Others, however, deemed it excessive, pointing out the stark contrast between such spending and pressing issues like poverty and inflation. Many also questioned the practicality of such an indulgence.
"Is this supposed to be cool? You can waste money buying the stupidest things? No one is impressed." one user commented. Another joked, "This pet travels better than I ever will!"
A third wrote, "Imagine how far 20k would go at an animal rescue? Imagine how many animals without homes could benefit from that? Imagine the incredible feeling of knowing you saved many animal lives. Now that would be impressive."
A fourth said, "Man, this is a grotesque illustration of what's wrong in society. Imagine being such a gullible brand slave that you staff 10s of thousands on something so goddam pointless just so you can show off about it. How achingly insecure would you have to be to resort to this? Just a sickening lack of awareness or values."
However, some also defended him and accused others of hypocrisy. A fifth added, "I like folks who accumulate wealth and enjoy life on their terms. It's funny how many here are condemning this man's spending habits yet they would treat themselves to a $800 iPhone and don't consider charity at the time."

Mahindra XEV 9e Launched In India Priced At Rs 21.90 Lakh
Mahindra has launched the XEV 9e electric SUV in the Indian market along with its sibling, the BE 6e. The born electric SUV of the brand has been introduced at a starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai). As per the brand's announcement, the deliveries of the EV will begin in February 2025. It is to be noted that the EV comes with a modern design language of the brand and tons of features. Here are all the details of the Indian automaker's new EV.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Design
Mahindra XEV 9e was widely considered to be an electrified version of the XUV700. This speculation seems to be invalid when taking a look at the design of the electric SUV. The front fascia of the EV consists of a triangular headlamp cluster, which is surrounded by LED DRLs on two sides that continue to cover the width of the EV. Right above the DRL is the new logo of the brand.

Multiple factors contribute to the uniqueness of the 9e, for instance, it gets an unbroken line that runs from the front end to the rear which merges well with the boot giving it a coupe-like appearance with a dipping roof line. Being a full-fledged SUV, it is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels with a completely new design.
The XEV 9e stands at 4,789 mm in length. It gets a ground clearance of around 207 mm and offers a frunk space of 195L. Meanwhile, the trunk of the vehicle has a 663L at its disposal.

Mahindra XEV 9e: Cabin & Features
The cabin of the electric SUV has been designed to have ample space, credit to the underfloor battery pack. Additionally, the automaker has not shied away from loading the cabin with tech, which is evident in the form of a three-screen setup covering 110 cm of the dashboard with a two-spoke wheel with an illuminated logo very similar to the one used on BE 6e. The automaker is offering as many as 5 screens in the EV.
The SUV also has features like an air purifier, sunroof with UV ray blocker, Harman Kardon music system with Dolby Atmos, HUD with augmented reality on the windscreen, 5G internet, connected car features, built-in Amazon Alexa, cooled console, 60:40 split seats in the second row, telescopic and tilt adjustment for steering, and more.

Mahindra XEV 9e: Safety
To ensure the safety of occupants, the brand is offering Level 2 plus ADAS features, Secure360 (a feature to monitor the vehicle using a mobile phone), and more. There are other features like six airbags, an electronic parking brake, TPMS, and a driver drowsiness system.
Mahindra XEV 9e: Powertrain, Range
The Mahindra XEV 9e comes with the same 79 kWh battery pack, which offers an ARAI-certified range of 659 km. The real-world range of the EV is above 500 km. This battery powers an electric motor that produces 286 bhp of power and 380 Nm of peak torque. This power can be used to accelerate the SUV from 0-100 kmph in 6.8 seconds. There is an option of a 59 kWh battery pack which powers a 231 hp motor. This battery pack can be charged using a 140 kW DC charger.

Wedding, Not Politics: Devendra Fadnavis Explains Quick Visit To Delhi
Devendra Fadnavis, seen as the front-runner in the race for the top job in Maharashtra, came to Delhi this evening, sparking anticipation about a meet with the Central leadership to resolve the Chief Ministership issue. But he doused expectation saying no meeting on the matter has been planned and he is in the national capital to attend the wedding of the daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Mr Fadnavis is expected to return to Mumbai later tonight, ahead of Union minister Amit Shah's expected visit to the country's financial capital on Tuesday.
Two days after the Maharashtra assembly election results were declared, there has been no announcement about the big question of who would be the next Chief Minister of the state.
While Mr Fadnavis has been seen as the front-runner for the post, ally Shiv Sena is keen that its chief Eknath Shinde continues in the top job. Off the records, leaders say that he deserves the job since it is his government's welfare projects that helped the ruling alliance reach a sweeping victory.
Shiv Sena spokesperson Naresh Mhaske cited the "Bihar model" to assert that Mr Shinde should continue as the chief minister. In Bihar, Nitish Kumar has continued as the Chief Minister despite the BJP's better performance in the last assembly election.
"We feel Mr Shinde should be the Chief Minister, just like in Bihar where BJP did not look at the numbers but still made JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar the CM. Senior leaders of the Mahayuti (in Maharashtra) will ultimately take a decision," he was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India.
At the Sena MLAs' meeting, slogans were raised in demand of Mr Shinde as the Chief Minister.
The Ajit Pawar-led NCP, sources said, may support Mr Fadnavis for the top post, tilting the scales in favour of the BJP.
Since the results were declared, leaders of all three parties in the ruling alliance have said they would sit down together and take a call on the issue. Mr Fadnavis had even lightened the mood at a post-election press conference, saying they will consult all allies including Ramdas Athawale, the chief of Republican Party of India-Athawale which contested one seat under the BJP flag and lost.
Led by Mr Fadnavis, the BJP won the highest ever 132 seats for the party, while the Shiv Sena faction led by Mr Shinde bagged 57 seats. Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party won 41 seats, taking the ruling alliance Mahayuti score to a whopping 230 of the state's 288 seats.

Audi Drops Iconic Four Rings Logo In China, Internet Says "Bad Move"
German carmaker Audi has dropped its iconic four rings logo in China, a move that has shocked social media. The logo has been a symbol of the luxury cars since the 1930s, but wasn't a part of a new E Concept electric sportback that was showcased in Shanghai earlier this month. The car just carried 'AUDI' in all caps on the front. This comes at a time when Jaguar's new logo has sparked a buzz on social media, with users criticising the move.
Internet is shocked by Audi's rebranding too - though it has so far only happened in China.
"Very confusing branding choice," commented one user. "Bad move. Everyone knows the Audi logo. This new one is lame," said another.
While explaining the reason behind Audi's move, another user expressed his disappointment by saying, "The Chinesification of foreign premium brands in China continues, one way to survive the bloodbath."
The new AUDI logo is part of a project with Chinese automaker SAIC to co-develop electric vehicles aimed at attracting younger customers in the world's largest auto market.
It marks an effort by both Audi and SAIC to win back market share in China, where legacy local players and foreign automakers have been losing ground to EV- and hybrid-focused rivals.
"The customers (here) are much younger than the rest of the world, 30 and 35 (years old) on average in the premium segment, while the rest of the world is 55," Fermin Soneira, CEO of the project, told news agency Reuters.
"The EV series aims to attract younger drivers who seek high-end technology features such as advanced driver-assistance systems," the CEO further said.
The new EV series uses automotive architecture co-developed with SAIC, and Audi says it will rely more on local suppliers and technologies.
Audi sold fewer than 15,000 EVs in China in the first nine months of 2024, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. In comparison, Chinese premium EV brands Nio and Xpeng sold roughly 10 and seven times more, respectively.

"I Deserve": Chahal's Bold Declaration On Being Most Expensive IPL Spinner
India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal reflected on his move to Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 18 crore in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction and said that he deserved this price. Chahal was roped in by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Rs 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 season. For Chahal, there was first a huge bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings and then between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Eventually, he was roped in by PBKS for Rs 18 crore.
Chahal is the chart-topping bowler in the league, owning the most wickets by an Indian in T20is and by any bowler in the IPL. In 80 T20Is he has taken 96 wickets at an average of 25.09 with best figures of 6/25. Also in overall T20s, he has taken 354 wickets in 305 matches.
Speaking exclusively on JioCinema, Chahal said that he was "nervous and anxious" during the time of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
"I was quite nervous and anxious because this amount is what I got in the last three seasons combined. I think I deserve this price, and I am very excited," Chahal was quoted in a release from JioCinema as saying.
The India spinner added that he has a strong bond with Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh and is excited to play with them in the Punjab-based franchise in the upcoming season.
"I'm excited as my bond with Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh is strong, and I will also get to learn a lot from Ricky Ponting sir. At least I'm closer to home now. It was Jaipur initially, and now it will be Chandigarh," he added.
Chahal remains the leading wicket-taker for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), even after departing in 2021 following a tenure that began in 2014. In 113 matches for RCB, he took 139 wickets at an average of 22.03, with a best of 4/25.
Since joining Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022, Chahal has helped the team reach the playoffs twice in three seasons. He is also the leading wicket-taker in IPL history, amassing 205 wickets in 160 matches at an average of 22.44, with a best of 5/44. He won the Purple Cap in 2022, his debut season with RR, securing 27 wickets in 17 matches at an average of 19.51, with best figures of 5/40.
Punjab Kings finished ninth in the 2024 IPL season. The team has not reached the playoffs since 2014 when they finished as runners-up.

"Ek Hain Toh Safe Hain": PM Modi On 'Biggest Message' Of Polls
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated the Mahayuti alliance for the historic sweep of Maharashtra, and warned those who in the pursuit of "opportunistic politics" lose sight of their core values.
At the BJP headquarters in Delhi where hundreds of supporters had arrived to celebrate the Maharashtra win, PM Modi referred to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance as something that was stitched at the last minute for selfish reasons.
"The people of Maharashtra have stopped the conspiracy hatched by the Congress and their friends. Maharashtra has given a verdict - ek hai toh safe hai is India's mantra," PM Modi said, alluding to the need for a stable and safe government with no vested interests pulling it in all directions.
PM Modi said the Congress can no longer win elections on its own, and whenever it loses, the party drags others down as it sinks, referring to the numbers in Maharashtra.
"The Congress is all about the family. No matter how much hard work a party worker puts in, the family will take all credit. There are many senior citizens who have seen the old Congress. They are searching for it today," PM Modi said.
The Mahayuti or the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 236 of the 288 assembly seats, while the MVA comprising the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party managed to get only 48 seats.
In Jharkhand, however, the NDA could not breach the INDIA fortress held by Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Congress, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

The killing of an Indian academic who had been living in the US for close to four decades has stunned the natives of Tulsipur Majha village, his birthplace.
Dr Shriram Singh, 58, a native of Gonda was gunned down in Georgia capital Atlanta on Wednesday.
He was going to attend a programme in Atlanta by car when some unknown people fired at his car indiscriminately, Tulsipur Majha village head Lalji Singh said.
The news of his killing was borne by his son Amit Singh.
Lalji Singh said Dr Singh joined as a professor at Atlanta Agricultural University in the US in 1990.
He had started some business recently in the country which was his home for 37 years.
Dr Singh's younger brother Shivaji Singh, who lives in the village, said his brother had done his postgraduate from Acharya Narendra Dev Agricultural University Kumarganj in Ayodhya before leaving for the US.
After completing his doctorate there, he joined as a professor at Atlanta Agricultural University and since then, he had been living in the US with his family, he said.
His elder son Amit Singh is an engineer in the FBI, while the younger son Ankur Singh is a cancer specialist in the US, his brother said.
According to Shivaji Singh, Dr Singh had made a deep inroad in the US with his social skills.

He had last come to the village about two years ago and was scheduled to visit again in March next year.

All Delhi School Classes Go Online After Top Court Rap Over Air Pollution
The Delhi and Haryana governments on Monday suspended physical classes for standards 10 and 12 in the national capital and neighbouring Gurugram, hours after the Supreme Court directed all states in the National Capital Region (NCR) to shift to the online mode in view of the deteriorating air quality in the city.
The top court's direction came while hearing a batch of pleas relating to the worsening air quality, as a petitioner questioned the Delhi government's decision to discontinue physical classes for all students, barring standards 10 and 12, from Monday. The Haryana government, on the other hand, had declared holidays for students up to class 5 in both government and private schools.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Atishi said: "From tomorrow physical classes shall be suspended for Class 10 and 12 as well, and all studies will be shifted online."
Likewise, the office of the Gurugram deputy commissioner said that "in the interest of the health and safety of the children, it has been decided that all classes upto 12th standard will remain discontinued from 19.11.2024 till Saturday, 23.11.2024 or further orders, whichever is earlier, in all areas (urban as well as rural) of District Gurugram". "Online classes will be conducted in lieu of physical classes, in all Government & Private Schools in the district... Strict compliance of the orders is be ensured positively," it said.
The air quality in the national capital plunged to the "severe-plus" category on Monday morning, prompting the top court to pull up authorities over a delay in implementing tough restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to tackle the bad air days.

Who Is Imsha Rehman, Pakistani TikTok Star Caught In Video Leak Scandal
Pakistan-based TikTok influencer Imsha Rehman has deactivated her social media accounts after her private videos were circulated online without her consent. The videos, allegedly showing Ms Rehman in a compromising position, have since gone viral, triggering a social media storm in the conservative country. Rehman has been facing criticism and intense scrutiny from all quarters which prompted her to wipe out her social media footprint, at least temporarily. Rehman has become the latest Pakistani influencer to have had her private videos leaked online.
Who is Imsha Rehman?
Born on October 7, 2002, in Lahore, Ms Rehman is one of the biggest social media influencers in Pakistan -- commanding a legion of followers on Instagram and TikTok. She started her social media journey by sharing fishing and lifestyle content before transitioning to down-to-earth and relatable content on the short video platform, TikTok.
As of the last update, Rehman had over 111,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 200,000 followers on TikTok - the Chinese app owned by ByteDance.
Imsha Rehman responds to controversy
As the controversy surrounding her explicit videos snowballed, Ms Rahman posted a brief statement before going offline. "The backlash has been overwhelming", she wrote. As per Pakistani media reports, the videos were released after hackers managed to gain access to her accounts.
A screenshot shared by The Express Tribune showed Ms Rehman's TikTok page where she had changed the bio to, "Jab tak video viral hai maine ne ID off kar di hai (Till the time video is viral, I have deactivated my account)."
Previous instance
This is not the first instance when a Pakistani social media influencer has had their online privacy breached. Minahil Malik, a popular social media personality and TikTok star had also quit social media after an intimate video of her with her boyfriend leaked online. She claimed the video was "fake" and lodged a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
However, Malik faced intense trolling since social media users accused her of intentionally leaking the video. Pakistani actress Mishi Khan released a video in which she criticised influencers for "stooping to the lowest level" for fame. She did not directly name Malik, but the references were said to be directed towards her.

Mob Tries To Storm Chief Minister's Home As Manipur Protests Escalate
Protesting against the death of six hostages from Jiribam, a mob tried to barge into the personal residence of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday evening, setting off another big escalation between security forces and the protesters in the violence-hit state.
The security forces had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.
The protests come a day after bodies of six missing people, including an eight-month-old infant, were recovered from a Manipur river. The six family members were reported missing in the aftermath of violence on Monday when 10 armed Kuki men died in a gunfight with security forces.
Last week, a 31-year-old woman of the Hmar group within the Kuki tribal community was burned alive in the state's Jiribam district.
A large mob, upset over lack of inaction and communication from government, had gathered and demanded to meet lawmakers in the state capital Imphal on Saturday.
Earlier today, protesters attacked the residences of at least three state ministers and six MLAs, prompting the government to impose prohibitory orders in five districts for an indefinite period and suspended internet services in parts of the state.
The Manipur government has requested the Centre to review and withdraw the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act or AFSPA, a controversial law which gives unbridled power to the armed forces, which was reimposed in six police station limits.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had on November 14 reimposed AFSPA in areas falling under Sekmai PS and Lamsang PS in Imphal West district, Lamlai in Imphal East, Moirang in Bishnupur, Leimakhong in Kangpokpi and Jiribam in Jiribam district.
At least 250 people have died and 60,000 been uprooted in Manipur since May last year in inter-communal clashes over government grants and quotas in jobs and education.
The Centre has sent extra security forces and promised firm action against violent members of both communities.
Manipur has become divided into two ethnic enclaves: a valley controlled by the Meiteis and hills dominated by the Kukis.

Neena Gupta On Failing Audition For Dimple Kapadia's Role In Tenet
Neena Gupta has always been open about her personal and professional challenges. Recently, she shared how she often faces rejection during auditions. The veteran actress also recalled auditioning for the role of Priya Singh in Christopher Nolan's Tenet. The role was eventually played by Dimple Kapadia. Neena Gupta mentioned that she travelled all the way to Los Angeles to meet Christopher Nolan for the part, but despite her efforts, she did not land the role. In contrast, Dimple Kapadia, who did not even have to meet the director, secured the role in the 2020 film.
During her appearance on Kareena Kapoor's talk show What Women Want, Neena Gupta shared, “Bahut baar mai audition me fail ho jati hu. Audition ni lete to mai pass rehti hu. [I fail in auditions many times. If they do not take my audition, then it is fine.] I auditioned for Tenet (for) director Christopher Nolan. I went to LA for one day to meet him, came back. First, I did the audition here and sent it to him. They selected 5 ladies. Then, ultimately Dimple (Kapadia) did the role. She did not even go there.”
Neena Gupta hilariously added, “Mai Dimple ko milungi to bolungi ki tu gai bhi nahi. [When I will meet Dimple, I will tell her that you did not even go.]” The veteran actress concluded, “It is a director's image of the character. You can not say anything about it.”
In October, Dimple Kapadia recalled an incident from her time on the set of Tenet. She shared how, during a fitting session, director Christopher Nolan complimented her earrings and asked her to leave them behind after filming. “I went for a fitting and I promptly took out my earrings and wore them. Christopher Nolan turned around and said, ‘Oh, they're lovely. You can leave them behind after your shoot,' and I did," the actress told Vogue India.
In Tenet, Dimple Kapadia's character was an Indian arms trafficker. The movie also featured John David Washington, Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki in pivotal roles.

Hamas Says "Ready For Ceasefire", Urges Trump To "Pressure" Israel
A senior Hamas official on Friday said the group is "ready for a ceasefire" in Gaza, urging US President-elect Donald Trump to "pressure" Israel as it continued to pound the Palestinian territory.
It comes nearly a week after Qatar, which hosts much of the Palestinian group's political bureau, announced it was suspending its role as a mediator in the war and urging all parties to show "seriousness".
"Hamas is ready to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip if a ceasefire proposal is presented and on the condition that it is respected" by Israel, Doha-based Hamas political bureau member Bassem Naim told AFP.
"We call on the US administration and Trump to pressure the Israeli government to end the aggression."
On Saturday, Qatar announced it was suspending its role as a mediator in indirect talks towards a ceasefire and hostage release deal in the Gaza war that has ground on for more than a year.
"Qatar would resume those efforts... when the parties show their willingness and seriousness," Doha's foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari said in a statement.
Friday's announcement by Hamas came as Israel continued to strike Gaza, with residents of the central city of Deir el-Balah searching through the rubble of their destroyed homes after overnight strikes.
"I woke up to the bombing at 2:30 am and was surprised by the rubble and glass falling on me and my children," said Mohamed Baraka, one of the residents, adding that the strike "resulted in three martyrs and 15 injuries".
"Put an end to this war... because there are innocent people who are losing defenceless children who have nothing to do with this," he said.
Hostage video
The war erupted with Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel which resulted in 1,206 deaths, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally of Israeli official figures.
Israel's retaliatory campaign has killed 43,764 people in Gaza, most of them civilians, according to figures from the Hamas-run territory's health ministry that the United Nations considers reliable.
Militants also kidnapped 251 hostages during the attack, 97 of whom are still held in Gaza, including 34 whom the Israeli military says are dead.
Earlier Friday, the Hamas-allied militant group Islamic Jihad released a new clip of Israeli hostage Sasha Trupanov, after issuing a first video earlier this week.
Trupanov, 29, is a dual Russian-Israeli citizen who was abducted with his girlfriend, Sapir Cohen, from the Nir Oz kibbutz near the Gaza border.
Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called for the release of Trupanov and another hostage, Maxim Herkin, in comments made before the release of the latest clip.
Fears surged over the fate of the hostages after Qatar announced its withdrawal from mediating talks -- the latest blow in a protracted negotiation process that has hit repeated impasses.
Lebanon strikes
Israel on Friday also continued to strike Lebanon, where it intensified in September its air offensive and later sent in ground troops following a year of low-intensity cross-border exchanges with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
A building in Beirut's southern suburbs collapsed in a gigantic cloud of smoke and dust, an AFP photographer reported, as two strikes attributed to Israel hit the Hezbollah bastion.
A series of images from the strike captures a falling projectile slamming into the lower floors of the building, which erupt in a huge fireball, causing the structure to collapse.
Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported a "heavy raid carried out by aircraft of the Israeli enemy" in the Ghobeiri area of southern Beirut.
It said the raid had been preceded by two missile strikes on the same target by an Israeli drone.
The strikes followed a call by the Israeli military to evacuate the area. The evacuation call posted on X by Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee told residents to leave, warning of imminent strikes.
"All residents in the southern suburbs, specifically ... in the Ghobeiri area, you are located near facilities and interests affiliated with Hezbollah," Adraee said in an Arabic-language post on X.
"For your safety and the safety of your family members, you must evacuate these buildings and those adjacent to them immediately."
Later in the morning, a second strike hit the Bourj al-Barajneh area of the southern suburbs, an AFP journalist reported.
NNA said two missiles had been fired by an "enemy aircraft".
Lebanese authorities say more than 3,380 people have been killed since October last year, when Hezbollah and Israel began trading fire.

Samson Scripts History, Becomes 1st Player Ever To Achieve Huge T20I Feat
Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson became the first player ever to score three T20I centuries in a calendar year following his sensational knock against South Africa on Friday. The India opener looked in phenomenal form as he ended up scoring off 109 just 56 balls with the help of 6 fours and 9 sixes in the fourth T20I. Samson started the four-matches series with a brilliant century but he was dismissed for a duck in the next two matches. However, that did not affect his form at all as he seemed completely in control against the South Africa bowlers on Friday and his brilliant knock took India to 283/1.
Centuries from Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma guide India towards a mammoth total#SAvIND : https://t.co/nCcnyy7c2U pic.twitter.com/BLjrRC9L6n
— ICC (@ICC) November 15, 2024
Sanju Samson's precision met its match in Tilak Varma's muscular elegance as India toyed with South African bowling attack to post an imposing 283 for 1 in the fourth and final T20 International. This is by far India's highest T20I total overseas and highest by any country on South African soil.
Among the plethora of records that tumbled, the most special one will be two Indian batters scoring centuries in same T20I innings. Samson and Varma also posted the highest partnership for India in T20 Internationals --- 210 off just 93 balls for the second wicket.
Samson (109 not out off 56 balls), who smashed a superb century in the first game, once again pummelled the Proteas in company of Varma (120 not out off 47 balls) who has really come into his own with new found confidence and vigour at number three.
Samson now has three T20I tons in the last five knocks which also included two ducks while Varma has scored back-to-back T20I tons.
Samson completed his ton in 51 balls while Varma's (41 balls) took 10 balls less.
Abhishek Sharma (36 off 18 balls) should also get his share of credit for upping the ante in the Powerplay with four huge sixes.
On a good batting track with true bounce on offer, Indian batters hit a record 23 sixes as it was possible to hit through the line by just clearing one's front leg. Samson's nine maximums was one less than Varma's 10.
It only helped India that the opposition's best fast bowler Gerald Coetzee seemed to be carrying a niggle. The two medium pacers Andile Simelane (0/47 in 3 overs) and Lutho Sipamla (1/58 in 4 overs) seemed like lambs for slaughter. The Indians hit 10 sixes from Simelane and Sipamla.

Iran Plans To Send Women Protesting Hijab Mandate To Psychiatric Facilities
The Iranian state is planning to open a treatment clinic for women who flout the mandatory hijab laws that require them to cover their heads in public. Announcing the opening of a "hijab removal treatment clinic", Mehri Talebi Darestani, the head of the Women and Family Department of the Tehran Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice said the establishment will offer "scientific and psychological treatment for hijab removal".
"The establishment of this center will be for the scientific and psychological treatment of removing the hijab, specifically for the teenage generation, young adults, and women seeking social and Islamic identity and visiting this center is optional," a report by Iran International quoted Talebi as saying.
Notably, the Women and Family Department of the Tehran Headquarters for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice falls under the direct authority of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. The body is reportedly responsible for defining and enforcing strict religious standards in Iran, particularly those related to women's dress.
Move Sparks Outrage
The announcement came weeks after a university student, who stripped down to her underwear on a Tehran campus in an apparent protest at harsh treatment by dress code enforcers, was detained and sent to a psychiatric hospital for mental health treatment.
The news of the new clinic has spread among the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protest groups and women, sparking fear and outrage.
Speaking with The Guardian on the condition of anonymity, a young woman from Iran said, "It won't be a clinic, it will be a prison."
"We are struggling to make ends meet and have power outages, but a piece of cloth is what this state is worried about. If there was a time for all of us to come back to the streets, it's now or they'll lock us all up," she said.
According to Iranian human rights lawyer, Hossein Raeesi, the idea of a clinic to treat women who did not comply with hijab laws is "neither Islamic nor aligned with Iranian law".
Use Of Psychiatric Facilities To Curb Dissent
Iranian authorities have been widely accused of using mental health institutions to curb the dissent against the strict hijab law. The method has been condemned by human rights advocates as psychologically abusive and manipulative.
Speaking to The Guardian, Sima Sabet, a UK-based Iranian journalist who was a target of an Iranian assassination attempt last year, said the move is “shameful”.
“The idea of establishing clinics to ‘cure' unveiled women is chilling, where people are separated from society simply for not conforming to the ruling ideology," she said.
Since the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement began, hardliners have increased efforts to enforce strict dress codes for women. Artists, including actresses Afsaneh Bayegan, Azadeh Samadi, and Leila Bolukat, who posted images of themselves without a hijab, reportedly received court-ordered mandates for weekly visits to psychological centers for mental health certificates in response to their conduct.
The "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement began in Iran after the death of young woman Mahsa Amini in police custody over hijab violations in September 2022.

Video: Nitish Kumar Bends To Touch PM's Feet At Event, He Does This
Bonhomie was on display at an event in Darbhanga on Wednesday when Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar bent down to touch the feet of Narendra Modi, only to be stopped by the Prime Minister, who shook his hands instead.
Having won 12 seats, Mr Kumar's Janata Dal United is the third largest partner in the National Democratic Alliance (fold) in terms of Lok Sabha constituencies. The party and Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party played a key role in ensuring that Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the third time after the BJP failed to secure a majority on its own for the first time in 10 years.
A video from the event shows Mr Kumar, who is 73, bending down and attempting to touch the feet of PM Modi, who is a year older than him, on a dais. The PM immediately gets up, holds the chief minister's arms and shakes his hands. Mr Kumar then sits next to the PM.
This is not the first time that Mr Kumar, who returned to the NDA fold after breaking away from the INDIA and Mahagathbandhan alliances earlier this year, has tried to touch the feet of PM Modi. He had done so during a meeting after the Lok Sabha results in June as well.
At the event, where he laid the foundation for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and inaugurated infrastructure projects worth Rs 12,100 crore, PM Modi praised the Bihar chief minister and said he had ensured the state emerged from "jungle raj".
"Nitish ji has set up a model of good governance ('sushasan'), pulling the state out of the era of jungle raj. No praise is too high for this achievement," the PM said.
"Bihar is witnessing a lot of development. The NDA government is committed to the welfare of the people. The previous government in Bihar didn't bother about health infrastructure. They made false promises, but the situation has improved since Nitish Kumar ji came to power," he added.

"Combining Indian Hospitality With Swiss Quality": CEO On New Noida Airport
The National Capital Region is set to get its second major airport in April next year and with the first trial flights scheduled a few days from now at the Noida International Airport - also known as the Jewar airport - NDTV has got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the frenetic construction activity at the project site as well as details of its design, connectivity and projected passenger numbers.
NDTV also spoke exclusively to Noida International Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann, who said their aim is to provide a passenger experience that combines Indian warmth and hospitality with Swiss quality and efficiency.
The airport is being developed by the Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Swiss firm Zurich Airport International AG, in association with the Noida International Airport Limited, which is the implementing agency on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government.
Located in Jewar in Western UP's Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the airport is scheduled to see its first trial flights taking off and touching down in a few days, which will be an important milestone not only in the airport's development schedule but also in the story of the growth of Indian aviation. The airport was necessary given that the Indian aviation market has seen a compounded annual growth rate of 8.9% in the decade between 2013 and 2023 and because the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has reached its growth potential.
Design Influences
Mr Schnellmann said design has been a key focus for the company since the project began around five years ago. Local materials have been used and one of the standout design choices is the flight of steps at the terminal's forecourt, which will resemble the ghats of Varanasi and Haridwar. Reflecting a focus on a climate change-friendly approach, the airport will also use natural lighting and ventilation to reduce its environmental footprint and energy costs.
"We are incredibly excited about the experience we are going to be able to offer our passengers. We talk about combining Indian warmth and hospitality with Swiss quality and efficiency. I think we have been very deliberate about designing the terminal (by) picking up elements of the rich architectural heritage of the region... An airport that is very much at home in north India, in Western UP. The commercial space will feature a large open-air courtyard reminiscent of some of the 'havelis' (traditional houses) found in the region," the CEO said.
The airport has also been planned as a gateway to tourist destinations in North India, including the Taj Mahal, and for Hindu pilgrimages like the Chardham Yatra, Kumbh Mela, Mathura and Vrindavan as well as the Buddhist circuit of Sravasti, Kapilavastu and Kushinagar.
Number-Crunching
The total area of the project is 1,334 hectares and, in its first phase, 1.2 crore passengers are expected to use the airport every year. The number is projected to increase to 3 crore by the end of the decade and 7 crore a few years after that.
One runway will be operational initially and, when it opens, the terminal will have 10 aerobridges and three bus gates. There will eventually be two operational runways and while the airport will have 28 spots for aircraft in the apron area initially, this will expand to 200 as the flights and passenger count increase.
Mr Schnellmann said that the terminal is being built keeping this expansion in mind.
"The pier can expand to the west to provide further passenger capacity. The building has also been designed in such a manner that it can be mirrored to the east," he said.
Road, Rail Links
The airport is connected to Greater Noida, Noida and Delhi via the signal-free Yamuna Expressway. Leaving from Saket at 11 am on Tuesday, it took about an hour and 45 minutes to reach the airport by road. Once an interchange is built from the airport to the expressway, it will take approximately 45 minutes from Noida and 25 minutes from Greater Noida, according to Mr Schnellmann.
The CEO said the UP government is also planning a rail link directly to the airport, construction on which will begin in a year or so.

China Unveils Its Second 5th-Gen Fighter, Looks Exactly Like This US Jet
China's second fifth-generation stealth fighter jet is making a debut at its largest air show, taking centre stage at the event and becoming the second nation in the world after the US to have more than one fifth-generation fighter jet.
The Shenyang J-35 stealth fighter is a twin-engine, single-seater supersonic jet developed for multirole missions. J-35 is the second fifth-generation fighter China has developed after the J-20.
J-35's design is similar to the US Lockheed Martin F-35, the only difference is that the former is twin-engine and the latter has one engine. China is known for copying the design of several aircraft - The J-20 and the US F-22 Raptor are similar in design except for canards that are present in J-20, and the Chengdu J-10 also known as the "Vigorous Dragon" is similar to the US F-16.

US F-22 Raptor (Left), China J-20 (Right)
Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party in a report said, "The aircraft could enhance the country's integrated combat capabilities."
"J-35A functions within both stealth and counter-stealth combat frameworks. Its mission focuses on gaining and maintaining air superiority, eliminating hostile fourth/fifth generation fighter jets and ground/surface air defence forces, as well as intercepting aerial hostile targets including fighters, bombers and cruise missiles," it said.

US F-35 Lighting carrying out formation flying
'One Aircraft, Multiple Roles'
China plans to induct the aircraft into the Air Force and the Navy, similar to the US F-35 which has three variants - The F-35A for the Air Force, F-35B for the Marine Corps and F-35C for the US Navy.
The F-35A can take off from an Air Force runway, the F-35B can hover and vertically land on amphibious attack ships of the Marine Corps and the F-35C, with a wide wingspan, is used for aircraft carrier landings by the US Navy.
Earlier this year, China's largest and heaviest aircraft carrier, Fujian, was out for sea trials. The conventionally powered aircraft carrier weighs over 80,000 tons and has the most potent aircraft launch system - EMALS or Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, which currently only the US operates on the USS Gerald R Ford, the world's largest operational aircraft carrier.

Fujian is China's third aircraft carrier
The US Department of Defence in a report on China's naval modernization and its implications, said "China may be developing a carrier-capable variant of its FC-31/J-31 fifth-generation stealth fighter to complement or succeed the J-15 on catapult-equipped PLA carriers. China reportedly is also developing a carrier-based airborne early warning (NAEW) aircraft, called the KJ-600, that is similar to the U.S. Navy's carrier-based E-2 Hawkeye AEW aircraft,82 and stealth drone aircraft."
The J-35 is reportedly a lighter version of the J-20. However, the combat capabilities of both aircraft remain unknown.
The development of the J-35 fighter jet suggests that China is mirroring the US and aims to combat the latter in the Indo-Pacific. The inclusion in the air show suggests that J-35 is ready for deployment.
Recently, the US deployed its new long-range air-to-air missile that could potentially disrupt the balance of power in the region. The AIM-174B missile, onboard the US Navy's F-18 Super Hornet, as seen in many pictures, is known to have an operational range of approximately 400 km.

Other Attractions At The Air Show
At the Zhuhai air show, China also unveiled the world's first twin-seat variant of a stealth aircraft. The J-20s was under development for a few years and has broken the cover at the air show. China says the aircraft is a "heavy-duty radar-evading fighter jet with long-range operation and multifunction capabilities."
The J-20 fighter jets flew in a diamond formation at the air show. The Russian Su-57, also a fifth-generation fighter jet, participated in the event.

The airshow will feature a dedicated drone zone for the first time. The Russia-Ukraine war has shown the world the growing relevance of drones on the battlefield and how it is being used extensively by Kyiv to counter the asymmetry in terms of military strength with Russia.
China unveiled its 'Killer Whale' ship ahead of the largest air show. The dual diesel and electric propulsion ship is unmanned and can carry a range of weapons like rockets, anti-ship missiles and ship-to-air missiles. It can also allow take-off and landing of choppers at its helipad.
China's Killer Whale is not the first unmanned surface vessel developed by a country. Earlier this year, the US Navy completed its first deployment of four unmanned ships which spent over four months in the Pacific for sea trials. The unmanned surface vessels - Sea Hunter, Sea Hawk, Mariner and Ranger - departed Southern California in August 2023 and returned in January 2024.
India's AMCA Program
India is developing its 5.5 generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft which will have stealth capabilities and the Defence Research and Development Organization chief said the induction is expected by 2035. Air Force's latest induction, the Rafale fighter jet, is a 4.5 generation multi-role aircraft that is deployed in the north in Ambala, Haryana, and Hashimara in Assam.
While China has deployed the J-20 fighter jets close to the Line of Actual Control, experts have inferred that in the event of a conflict, standalone weapon systems like surface-to-air missiles, air-to-air missiles and air defence systems will play a huge role for the Indian Air Force to combat and outmanoeuvre the Chinese.
