BJP ends alliance with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir

In a big political development today, the ruling BJP has ended its alliance with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by BJP president Amit Shah. Following this, BJP has also sent a letter to Governor, BJP Chief Amit Shah held a meeting today with party cabinet ministers, various office bearers and incharges of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the political situation in the state.Reasons behind the breakup1. BJP general secretary, Ram Madhav said the decision was taken as it was becoming untenable for BJP to continue in alliance with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir.2. BJP claims that the PDP government has never responded to the help and funds given by the centre.3. The meeting also included the impact of suspension of operations during Ramzan and its revocation- and plan the future strategy vis-à-vis ties with ally PDP and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting with BJP leaders and ministers from Jammu and Kashmir is part of a series of such confabulations that Shah is holding with various state units. On Sunday, the centre had decided to end the Ramzan ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir. Citing a rise in incidents of violence, the centre in a strongly worded statement laid down stern measures to deal with such acts.
