NEW DELHI: Metal shares were clocking decent gains with the Nifty Metal index trading 3.68 per cent up at 3,461.1 around 12:55 pm on Friday. Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 7.17 per cent), Vedanta (up 5.97 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (up 5.10 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 4.77 per cent) were the top performers in the index. Tata Steel (up 4.49 per cent), JSW Steel (up 3.81 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (up 3.31 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (up 3.29 per cent), too were trading in the green. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 180.10 points at 10,560.55 while BSE Sensex was up 583.08 points at 35,015.05 at that time. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Coal India, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, SBI, BHEL, Vedanta, BPCL, RIL, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, HPCL, Motherson Sumi, Indian Oil Corp and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
