Who doesn't want to opt for deciding on the quantum of leaves one can avail at work? Well, some Australian employers have started exploring the option of unlimited leaves for their employees, a report in Times of India said.Till recently, employers would hesitate to offer leave which stretches beyond a minimum period required under the law. But that is changing now as some employers have started to let the employees decide what an appropriate period of leave should be.Inventium, an Australian innovation consultancy, found that the employees tend to take leaves according to requirement and not abuse the policy of unlimited leaves.A research in 2016 found that Australians on an average have 16 days of unused leave while other studies found that around 2.4 millio full-time working Australians have worked without taking a leave for over a year.Employers such as Indeed, a global jobs site, offers the option of unlimited leaves to its employees in Australia and the US. “Indeed enjoys low staff attrition and high levels of employee engagement,” Paul Wolfe, Head of Global Human Resources at Indeed, told Business Insider.Anthony Mitchell, the co-founder and Chief Potential Officer at Bendelta, an Australian strategic leadership firm, says that more leaves make the "employees feel more able to put more energy into each working day, as they see that this will be balanced out by some respite on the horizon".
