Mumbai: Goa-based Molbio said that it has received a testing licence from the Drug Controller General of India for its Covid-19 kits, reports Divya Rajagopal. This takes the company one step closer to launching them in the Indian market. Molbio said that its test can give out results in 35 minutes. The drug controller’s approval means the National Institute of Virology (NIV) at Pune, which is the central lab for all the Covid-19 tests in the country, will validate whether Molbio’s device actually works. The NIV will examine the device for Sensitivity and Specificity, ie it will look if it throws up false negatives and false positives with the results.
